How to Use Shrink-wrap for Gift Baskets

POF shrink film

Shrink wrap is the perfect final addition to a gift basket. Besides giving a polished finish, shrink wrap holds items in place preventing slippage of carefully arranged gifts. Although shrink-wrap comes in a variety of forms, the individual bags in small, medium and large are the cheapest and simplest to use. Available at your local craft store, shrink-wrap bags are the beginner's dream. Be sure to pick up a few bags as shrink-wrapping quickly becomes addictive.

Using Shrink-wrap Bags for Baskets
Instructions:
1. Arrange the items in basket so they are evenly distributed. Shrink-wrap is transparent, so be sure your items look good all the way around and are secure in their position.
2. Open the shrink-wrap box and remove the cellophane bag. Carefully open up the bag and get a good idea of the size.
3. Place the basket in center of bag with the cellophane seam sitting under the bottom of the basket. You do not want the seam to pull up in the heating process and mar the finished look, so always keep it low or underneath.
4. Draw the bag together using your hands either an inch above the handle or 6 inches above the tallest item and secure with a rubber band or piece of tape.
5. Arrange the shrink-wrap. Creases and awkward folds look worse after heating, so get the shrink-wrap as smooth and evenly gathered as possible.
6. Heat shrink wrap using a hairdryer on a low heat or with a craft-heating tool. Start at the bottom of the basket and work your way evenly up the sides. You know you are finished when the cellophane is taut to the touch all over.
7. Create a more secure closing by tying a bow or ribbon over the rubber band or tape and then sit back and enjoy your handiwork.

Using Shrink-wrap Sheets or rolls for Baskets
Instructions:
1. Cut the shrink-wrap sheet large enough to go all the way around your basket.
2. Place the shrink-wrap over the top of the basket and fold it underneath. Fold over one side, then the front, the other side and then the back. Place it on a table. Make sure you do not have a tablecloth on the table.
3. Tilt the basket to the back, and, using your heat gun, heat the bottom for 10 to 15 seconds, moving the heat gun back and forth. Then set it back down on the table.
4. Tilt the basket to the front and heat the bottom again for about 10 seconds. Do not hold the heat gun in one position; keep moving it.
5. Set the basket down and quickly run the heat gun back and forth over the basket part and then the top. The wrap will get tight. Do not overheat it, or it will split or get a hole in it.
6. Place a ribbon around the basket and tie a bow on the top.

Tips & Warnings:
a) You may want to trim down the shrink-wrap to better accommodate your basket.
b) Trying to remove the original fastening will end up getting messy, so always cover for that finished look.

clear BOPP cellophane roll

How to Wrap a Gift Basket With Cello film

Wrap a homemade gift basket for any occasion like a professional. In just a few minutes a gift giver can dress up a gift basket using a complimentary color or design cellophane wrap. Choose a gift ribbon to complete the look and the basket is complete.

Instructions
Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Cellophane film roll
  • Scissors
  • Clear adhesive tape
Step1
Size the cellophane. Unroll the cellophane film and place the gift basket in the middle. Pull each end of the cellophane up around both sides of the basket. There’s an excess of about 5 to 6 inches of cellophane beyond the top of the basket. Cut with scissors.

Step2
Secure the sides of the wrap around the basket. Lift the cellophane up again around both side of the basket. Fold gently over the top of the basket, so that the cellophane stands firmly upright. Gather both sides of the gaping cellophane at the bottom of the basket to create one panel.

Step3
Secure the panel by taping horizontally on both sides to the cellophane wrap around the body of the basket. Repeat on the other end of the basket.

Step4
Straighten the appearance of the cellophane wrap in the front and back of the basket. Pull up the end of the cellophane on both sides of the basket, leaving no slack in the cellophane.

Step5
Roll the top right corner over once and secure with a piece of tape to the cellophane wrap on the back side of the basket. Repeat with the left corner.

Step6
Prepare the wrapping job for the finishing touches. Gather the cellophane at the top of the basket in a bunch.

Step7
Wrap clear tape 1 1/2 times around the base of the gathering. The gift basket is then ready for any final embellishments, such a ribbon

How to use cellophane/cello sheet/cello wrap gift bags to make gifts look great

I used to think the only way to wrap a gift or fruit basket was to buy some wrapping paper and tape it

up. Now I don’t know whether it is age or something else entirely, but nowadays I am getting a bit more

creative with wrapping gifts or fruit basket . I must admit though, it still took me a while to understand

the value of  cello gift bags.

clear-cello-roll-and-bag

Surprise! You can see right through it!

This is what I could never understand when it came to cello gift bags. It was almost like someone

thought,  "I know, I’ll buy a really nice gift for my friend/aunt/partner/whoever, and then I’ll pop

it in a see through bag  to surprise them."

Isn’t the unwrapping of the gift the whole point? Otherwise what happens to the excitement of the

unwrapping part?

You can see why it took me a while to catch on here.  The surprise is in the presentation

If you are thinking about using cello gift bags for any reason, you need to think of them as the grand

flourish to  giving a gift. Instead of giving a somewhat plain parcel that can be unwrapped, you can

give a real presentation – your gift is wrapped and finished beautifully, usually trimmed off with ribbons

as well. Can you imagine how  delighted you would be to receive such a gift, even though you could

instantly see what it was?

I’ve cottoned on to the idea of using cello sheet or cello gift bags now, and if the gift is a special

one I do  use them to add an extra degree of finery to the present. Clear cello gift bags come in all

shapes and sizes and there are  lots of ways to use them  The good news is that you can buy these cell sheet, cello roll and cello gift bags in all manner of

different  shapes  and sizes. For example some of them are tall and thin and are ideal for putting wine

bottles and champagne bottles in. All you have to do is to pop the bottle inside, gather in the cellophane and

tie a length of ribbon around the top in a bow.

Smaller bags are great for kids parties as well. You can use them instead of normal party or loot bags if

you have  older kids to cater for. They can also be used at weddings and other get togethers if you want to

provide every  guest with a small assortment of sweets to have.

And you cannot beat the huge cellophane gift bags that are ideal for putting large baskets inside. You’ll

probably  have seen these before, they are commonly used with gift baskets that are full of food and

alcohol.

But now you know that you can buy cellophane gift bags, you can also create your own gift baskets

instead of  paying for a company to make them up for you. There is arguably no better gift than a home

made gift basket that  has been made especially with one particular person in mind.

... and a bows and ribbons to finish it off.

How could you make use of cello sheet and cello gift bags?

Once you start using them you will find lots of different ways to make the most of them to present a

special gift to  someone. Finding suppliers of cello gift bags couldn’t be easier either just Google the

phrase and you will see lots of  possibilities coming back at you.

How to Make Tissue Paper Fairy Flower Ball Decorations

Things You'll Need: Tissue paper, 8 to 10 sheets per ball Floral wire Scissors Monofilament Tissue paper balls look elegant, like you spent hours making them, when in reality it only takes a few minutes of your time. They also are inexpensive to make. Tissue paper balls look amazing at birthday parties or even wedding receptions. Use different colors of tissue paper to make the balls multicolored or stick with one theme color. Hang them at uneven lengths for a festive look or at the same height for sophistication. Instructions:

1..Place the sheets of tissue paper in a flat stack.

2..Fold the tissue paper accordion style, making back and forth folds about 1 1/2 inches wide. Fold until you have one long strip of tissue paper.

3..Twist a 6-inch piece of wire around the center of the tissue paper strip. Form a loop at the end of the wire piece.

4..Cut the ends of the tissue paper strip into the desired shape. Rounded edges make a pom pom look, and pointy edges will look more floral. Hold each end of the tissue paper stack and cut as you wish.

5..Start pulling the tissue paper layers outward, separating each layer. These will form the ball. Pull the pieces toward the middle of the ball, and then turn the tissue paper over to repeat this process on the other side.

6..Shake the ball gently to fluff it out.

7..Tie your monofilament to the hook you created with the floral wire.

8..Hang the tissue paper balls and enjoy.
